New Animal Knitting Pattern Releases

Hello friends! I’ve spent years designing and knitting fair isle hat patterns, and this year I really wanted to start sharing some of my ideas with the rest of the knitting community. This month, I’ve released two new animal knitting patterns on my Etsy shop and Ravelry store!

Animals are my absolute favorite things to knit into my hats. I’m already a sucker for cute patterns, and adding something fluffy to the mix makes the hat even more lovable. Today, I have an animal knitting pattern for both llama and dog lovers.

Okay, so llamas don’t have a reputation for being the friendliest of creatures. But they’re really fun to put on a hat. My llama knit hat pattern has a ring of these guys, along with some classic fair isle design elements.

I knit this hat in hunter green and white, but any two colors would probably work. I’d just recommend using a darker color as the background. It helps mask the places where you need to carry strands throughout the hat.

Some familiarity with colorwork is recommended if you’re interested in this pattern, as there will be plenty of spots that need floats. But if you’re new to the technique, I still think this pattern should be achievable for you.

You can find the llama knitting pattern on sale on my Etsy shop or on my Ravelry shop.

Scottish Terrier Knit Hat Pattern

I’m actually shocked I hadn’t gotten around to knitting a dog-themed hat before this month. We all know dog owners are a devoted bunch, and I’ve finally got a design for you featuring some adorable puppies.

This hat would be absolutely perfect for a Scottish terrier enthusiast, but it should work just as well as a gift for any dog owner or lover of cute things. It’s originally knit in red, white and black, but you can easily change out colors to meet your needs.

Again, this is probably just right for you if you’ve made a hat or two before. You’ll also want to have some experience with stranded knitting. But if not, I have a couple tutorials that can help you get some experience. It’s really not too challenging of a colorwork project.

You can find the puppy knitting pattern on my Etsy shop or on my Ravelry shop.
